If you can't surf the web or retrieve e-mail after installing PicBlock. 1. Make sure you reboot your system after install. 2. Make sure you select "Yes" when prompted by your software firewall to allow PicBlock access to the Internet. 3. Make sure you are running at least Windows XP SP2, Vista, or 7 operating system. 4. Disable any other parental control tool that is running. If that fixes the problem then there is a conflict. E-mail us for assistance. 5. Temporarily disable your anti-virus tool. If that fixes the problem then e-mail us for further assistance. 2. If you can't surf the web and you are running AVG Anti-Virus. 1. Open the AVG console (steps may be slightly different for paid versions).
2. Select Tools -> Advanced Settings.
3. Uncheck (disable) Active Surf Shield (under Link Scanner).
4. Click OK. Close all browsers then reopen and try again. Sometimes requires a reboot. E-mail us if that doesn't fix the problem. This problem didn't occur in AVG 7. AVG should address this conflict in a future version so you don't have to turn off active scan. 3. If you can't surf the web and you are running Nod32 Anti-Virus. 1. Open the Node32 configuration tool by double clicking on the Node32 systray icon.
2. Select "Enter Advanced mode" under the Setup section.
3. Click Yes when prompted.
4. Select "Enter entire advanced setup tree..." under the Setup section.
5. Navigate to Web access protection -> HTTP / HTTPS -> Web browers.
6. Add a check mark (red x) to Picblock.exe (or Phime*.exe). If not present, click Add at the bottom of the list and navigate to the PicBlock install folder and select picblock.exe |
